Synthia Shilling holds diverse professional experience as an attorney in Maryland and Washington, D.C. Early in her career, she gained experience in employment law and commercial litigation as an attorney with the law firm Hogan & Hartson LLP, in Baltimore. Synthia Shilling subsequently served as staff counsel for Anne Arundel County Public Schools and as attorney for Prince George’s County Public Schools. Currently, she serves as an EEO contract attorney with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In this position, Ms. Shilling focuses on preparing final agency decisions for a wide range of issues involving Equal Employment Opportunity complaints.
Synthia Shilling holds a juris doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, a master of arts in English from the University of Maryland, and a master of science in educational leadership from The Johns Hopkins University. She serves her local community as a court-appointed special advocate for children in foster care and volunteers as a Girl Scout leader. Her personal interests include playing the flute, traveling, and spending time with her family.
